		<description>I recall solving this in sort of the reverse fashion: by changing the default TERM in Terminal.app to xterm (from xterm-color).

You could also solve it by adding the right termcap-y stuff in the remote .screenrc.

If I remember correctly (and I may not; it's been months since I looked at it), all this arises because the default xterm-color terminfo/termcap stuff claims that backspaces happen in a certain way, and Terminal.app does it differently.</description>
